HPD & DOB Violations

Postby jrnnyc » Thu Nov 11, 2004 8:05 pm

In the world of Housing Court and the presentation of HPD and DOB violations, I'd like a little perspective.

HPD Violations - 79 (5 Class C)
DOB Violations - 24 open

The status of these is either open, NOV Sent, or Not Complied.

Are these numbers high, average, or low?

All the best and ever appreciative,

Look at HPD and DOB violations for similar sized/aged bldgs nearby and compare them to yours.

To find these bldgs if you don't live in a converted townhouse: use the list that pops up on http://propertyshark.com/
or click on bldg outlines on the maps and read the stats on http://oasisnyc.com/ or
http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/mp/Portal.do

And call your City Councilmember and ask them to support the Healthy Homes Act. It will help to insure that slumlords make repairs. (See more info. under the General Topic section here.)
I'm not a lawyer, but I will be someday, dammit!
