Finding a lawyer

Postby bibababe » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:34 pm

My LL is taking me to court to take possession of my apartment in a Holdover
proceeding. I believe my apartment building is rent regulated although it is not registered with DHCR as such. I realize I have a lot of digging to do to prove this. Here is my question. Are there lawyers who specialize in this particular field? If so, how do i find one? Really appreciate any help you can give me, Thank you. Mary

Look higher on this page to the tenant lawyers that advertise here. More if you reload. More on the home page.

Legal Aid Lawyers

Does anyone out there have any experience with Legal Aid lawyers??
I'm curious about the quality of work they do.

Never sign a post on a public internet forum with your real name, especially here. Please read our forum rules if you are not sure.

Getting help from legal aid will depend on your income. Even then, it's very difficult as there are so many people and funding has been cut.

You can't make blanket judgments about quality of lawyers' work based on how the work is funded.
