Black Mold in my apartment

Postby PP31922 » Thu Oct 17, 2013 8:22 pm

Hello, I have made my superintendent aware of the black mold
that seems to be taking over my apartment and nothing has
been done. Today I took it upon myself to contact the dept. of
health here in New York to see if there are certain steps I
should take. I have not paid October's rent because I brought
this to their attention when I resigned my lease in September
of this year and he has never done anything to fix the rotting
drywall that is causing this issue. I was hoping someone can lead
me in to correct direction in regards to what I am supposed to
do at this point, am I to file something against my complex or
the housing company? What is the best course of action?
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

First, put it in writing to the landlord, not the super.
