Rent Stabilized LL Cashed my check - is this good?

Postby kamalny3 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:56 pm

A few weeks ago I notified the LL of my apt. that I will be claiming the apt.
as my father officially vacated the apt. MY father is tenant of record.
My attorney sent the LL a Letter - succession claim.
In the letter, my attorney said from now on,I will be sending the rent checks
under my name.

FF until now, the LL cashed the check under my name - is that a good sign?
Or does this mean nothing?

That is a good sign. But the LL can still challenge it.

You should post/move this in the RS forum, not the NYS forum, which is mostly upstate.

Succession is complicated. Make sure your attorney is a real tenant attorney who has experience in succession claims.
