Broken refrigerator has not been fixed

I live in Tarrytown (westchester co) and our refrigerator broke a week ago. The refrigerator itself is really, really old and needs replacing. Our landlord seems to not care and has done nothing about it so far, except saying he'll get us a new refrigerator next time he's at Home Depot. What can we do?
