Is my lease valid?

Postby HiIamTom » Sun May 20, 2007 3:28 am

Hi,

I am absolutely miserable with my current residence and I am trying to get out of my lease.

When looking through my lease I see no mention of my name as being a lessee. In fact thier are many errors within the lease made by the LL.

I suppose the First major error in the lease is where it states:

"July 31st 2006 shall herein be the lessor and that July 31st 2007 shall herein be the Lessee."

Here the LL filled in dates of residence where it should be his name as lessor and my name as lessee.

The next major error in the lease is the signatures.

Here the LL had me sign next to the Lessor and not the Lessee!

So I am hoping upon all hope if the fact nowhere in the lease have I been referred to or have signed as a Lessee does this make the lease then invalid?

Any opinions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is this the first time that you have noticed all the errors in your lease? I don't see how this could be considered legal, except that you did sign and he has been accepting your rent. Your should check with an attorney.
