This is our first time renting in NY State. We're in Rhinebeck. We're renting a single family home.
#1) The landlord want to do an inspection of the house including closets, all rooms, etc., in other words unfettered full access to look around.
There is no emergency and no reason to suspect any damage. We allowed a limited inspection last week but prohibited looking around our bedrooms or closets.
Do we have to let them look around our whole house?
#2 There are very big cracks and gaps (some 1/4 to 1/2 inch around our doors that allow a lot of cold air into the house. Is the landlord obligated to properly weatherproof these doors?
#3 Isn't the landlord required to provide a carbon monoxide detector? We don't have one.
