FORECLOSURE AS A TENANT WHATS NEXT???

Postby tenant28LI » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:08 pm

I just recently found out my landlord has been way behind on his mortgage and could not sell the house me and my family live in. He just told me I have until the 15th of this month to leave because the bank will come to kick us out. Im not entirely sure if thats legal but I would like feedback on the process of my situation if anyone could offer their advise please respond. I have a 2 year old and a newborn and have no where to go as of yet.

The LL is full of s[censored]t!

He or the bank have to go through legal process to remove you.

Unless you've seen legal proof of a foreclosure and verified it, then you can suspect that the LL is just trying to get you out to make it easier to sell the building.

In fact, in foreclosure actions a tenant is wise to save the rent money until a judge says whom to pay it to.

Do not roll over and play dead. Keep an eye out for other tricks the LL might try as well like "accidental" fires or service cut offs.
