Roomate troubles

Postby Alvysyngr » Thu Aug 22, 2002 12:57 pm

I live on Long Island, NY and rent a house with 3 others. Myself and one other are on the lease and the other two basically give us rent money. One of the people is a slob and is filthy, basically he is lowering our quality of living and we want him to leave. He also had a dog (died last year) that urinated on the rug several times and never steamed cleaned or took responsibility to have it cleaned even though we mentioned this to him several times. We (all other people want him out) tried being nice to him but he just fumed up and threw a tantrum stating, "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon". Can I legally evict him? If so how? Do I need an attorney? I appreciate any help you can offer
