Owner of the condo has decided to sell...

Postby TheKiddy2 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 7:37 pm

The owner of my apartment in a condo building in Manhattan has decided to sell. His broker will be visiting the apartment this weekend. I am not interested in having people go in and out of my apartment to view, make my apartment available for open houses, etc. Do I have any rights in the matter?

Read the thread on Access in the forum's Reference Section. The request must be in advance, in writing, state why the access is needed, must be at a reasonable time. You can insist on being there (you must do that to protect your possessions). It can be a negotiation. You can set aside a time for access, but they can't come in on their own or every day. Eventually you will have to allow some degree of access, but do it on your terms.
