Air Quality - Mitchell Lama Coop

Postby JQLew » Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:50 am

I was recently diagnosed with a severe pulmonary disorder. I am concerned that environmental conditions at my apartment are contributing to my condition, specifically air vents directly below my window which connect to the boiler room of my building. These vents pour out hot, dirty air and the grating under my window is caked with filth from these exhausts. There is no filtration, only a wooden structure over the vent which hardly seems adequate to protect me from this particulate laden pollution.

I have broached this matter with management in the past, but received no satisfactory response. I am at a loss as to how to proceed. Do I need to contact EPA? Get the air quality assessed?

I would try the municipal EPA, not the federal agency.
