Hi folks,
I received a letter after entering housing lottery on nyc housing connect,
that upon review my income does not meet the guidelines.
And if i have additional info that would entitle me to appeal, to please contact office.
I have not filled out any applications, only entered the housing lottery.
My registered income on the housing connect website is above the threshold.
However my income is actually below the threshold.
I am self employed, and have read that typically an average of 3 years of NET income
is used to determine annual household earnings.
I may be well below the 20,000 required, maybe around 15,000 but have some savings in double that amount.
I have read one instance where this might be considered and the story ended with someone being rejected. But it mentions a hint that savings might affect qualifying in a positive way. A few hours of googling and I'm empty handed on whether to apply or not given my annual household earnings are lower than the 20-25g. required.
Should i apply regardless ? All other ducks are in order.
