Postby patree125 » Thu Jan 09, 2003 3:31 am

if i lived with my mom for the past 3yrs. but was never on the lease, my mom was getting section 8,i was there because she was sick and needed care, and afraid of being alone. All my personal documents have me living in that apt.My mom did tell section 8 that i was living there. I was just never on the lease, but my passed away and i did send L/L papers stating i would like succesions rights, he accepted 1 months rent with my check, now he sends all rent back to me.
what can i do.

It actually sounds like you have a good succession case, but you may need a lawyer and go to court to actually get the lease.

I'd get a lawyer, and have him write the LL a letter stating that you have succession rights and want a lease in your name. That shouldn't be too expensive, and may get the job done. If the LL wants to put up a fight, that would be more expensive
