COFFEE, CROISSANTS AND VALLONE
What's more relaxing than a Sunday morning on Columbus Avenue in New York City's trendy Upper West
Side? Of course, it's a demonstration against City Council Speaker Peter Vallone!
It's a matter of record that Vallone took money from theater owners and their lobbyists in payment
for pushing through the recent City Council vote allowing Air Rights to be transferred into the
Clinton/Hell's Kitchen neighborhood and breaking the Special Clinton District.
Now Vallone is asking New Yorkers for your vote in this year's gubernatorial race. There's a
televised gubernatorial debate tomorrow on Channel 7, WABC-TV. Although the broadcast doesn't
begin until 11:30 A.M., were asking people to show up at Channel 7 tomorrow morning (Sunday,
September 6) at 10:30 AM in order to greet Vallone as he arrives at the studio. We've been told we
can't get inside, but we can get our message across from the station's entrance.
Vallone's expected 'victory' is not a done deal. Much of what the papers are reporting is coming
directly from the Vallone campaign and reflected in pro-Vallone media. The race is much tighter
upstate. But aside from expectations, politicians will continue to do what Vallone did to this
neighborhood unless there's accountability.
WHAT: DEMONSTRATE AGAINST PETER VALLONE -- HE'S UNFIT TO BE GOVERNOR
WHEN: Sunday, September 6 at 10:30 A.M.
WHERE: Corner of 67th Street and Columbus Avenue (not Columbus Circle)
The street adddress -- 7 Lincoln Square
We hear there's a Starbucks across the street, so you can get your coffee and croissants there.
We'll supply the flyers and posters.
Note: We are not affiliated with, and are not necessarily supporting any of the other
gubernatorial candidates.
