New York Apple Tours (NYAT) is polluting our air!!!

For over a decade NYAT has been breaking the law in order to keep their diesel-belching
double-decker sightseeing buses on our streets. They make huge profits while we pay the price with
our health.

NYAT Hall of Shame:

September 16, 1999: NYAT plead guilty in a criminal case in federal court, admitting to lying
about the age of imported buses in order to avoid time-consuming and costly EPA emissions and DOT
safety tests. NYAT explained through company lawyer Walter F. Timpone, "We had a competitive
advantage by bringing these buses in before anyone else."

November 19, 1995: NYAT violated building codes and environmental regulations by building an
illegal garage, installing 14 underground gas tanks and attaching walls to the structure
supporting an elevated train in Chelsea.

August 14, 1995: NYAT buses are forced off the streets by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA)
for switching permits and license plates to avoid safety inspections.

On December 15, the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) will hold yet another hearing, this time
to consider revoking the NYAT license to operate sightseeing buses.

New Yorkers demand clean air

New York City is on the federal government's list of the worst violators of the Clean Air Act. We
have some of the highest rates of asthma in the country and we lead the nation in deaths from
asthma.

It's time to fight back. Let the City know that we want environmental laws enforced.

This time NYAT should not just pay a fine, keep their license, and continue business as usual.
New York Apple Tours should be put out of business.

Call DCA Commissioner Jules Polonetsky at (212) 487-4401, and tell him you want to NYAT to stop
violating the law and polluting our air.
