Every other day it seems, tenants at the twin highrise at 580 & 590 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, must walk the stairs because elevators are out. There are 3 in each building. Imagine the elderly, mothers and children (fathers too) walking stairs up to 17 stories. The issue is also causing a security concern. Rents here are stabilized and range from approx $700-2000. Repeated complains to building management has not brought relief. I am guessing the buildings are early 1960s with over 200 units each. Where can we get help to remedy this problem?
