: I am a bit confused about the new code passed dec 20, 2000.
welcome to the club.

: Firstly...I am surprised it has not gotten more press?

read the pro-tenant comments from last summer and 12/00:
http://tenant.net/forum/board/messages/11469.html

: Second...have they now put nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles back on as family members? And if so, are they entitled to succession rights if they can prove they have lived with the family member for over two years?

No: the stuff in brackets is that part of the old rule which has been deleted. New stuff which has been added is underlined.

Section 6

Paragraph (1) of subdivision (o) of section 2520.6 of this Part is amended to read as follows:

(1) A husband, wife, son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, brother, sister, [nephew, niece, uncle, aunt,] grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law or daughter-in-law of the tenant or permanent tenant; or

: Third, have they changed the calculation method for vacancy? For instance, if you live in a rent stabilized apartment and your rent is 1,000, and the primary resident has been living there for over 20 years...If primary resident vacates, how much can they charge new tenant?

Same as before, except that they can charge the 20% part for each vacancy during the year, instead of just once a year.

: Thanks!

Welcome.
